AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
To provide the Afghan community (including migrants, refugees and asylum seekers), with opportunities to learn about the local culture and the host community in Scotland, enabling the Afghan community to access and contribute to life and society here in a more meaningful way.
To establish good social relationships, and to undertake promotional and educational campaigns on matters such as health, education, social services and people-friendly development.
To organise skills training programmes and activities for the Afghan community, including literacy and education in the English, Dari and Pashto languages. We also wish to create workshops providing opportunities for the younger generation of the Afghan community to learn about their own culture and background. Such programmes will enable us to develop skills, and provide positive, confidence-building experiences for all Afghans – particularly for those women and young people in our community who are most in need.
